myLot Topic Discussions| Re-arranging furniture - how often do you do this? | | I was frustrated with my lounge as the sofa sat in front of a wall unit and I didn't like it, so I have moved the TV, taken down shelves and shifted this rather heavy unit so now the sofa goes back against the wall and there is a lt more space for my son to play. | | Is there any website you can donate your unwanted furniture? | | My brother has several unwanted furnitures, a coffee table, a sofa, and some junks, so I call them, he wants to donate it out, and he simply doesn't want where to call, or who really want them. I heard there are some websites will help list those unwanted furnitures, or other junks, so if there is someone who interest in them, they can pick them up. In the past, I found a great four shelf bookcase, a TV cart stand and a bedstand all in prime condition in fact, they were in such great condition, that they looked brand new.Today, every once in awhile I'll still see some piece of furniture that looks great but wouldn't in a million years take home. Why? One word: bedbugs.I don't know what it's like in your neck of the woods, but over the past few years there's been a serious rise of bedbug infestation--so far, knock on wood, my building hasn't been hit by an infestation, but in many of the apt. buildings around me the infestation is terrible, in fact, often when I see furniture out in the garbage, sometimes the word "chinches" sprayed painted on it..Chinches being the Spanish word for bedbug.So if you find some great looking furniture tossed out as trash, are you likely to take it or think uh, maybe not due to little critters crawling on it...or have you actually taken some furniture home from trash and was indeed hit by... | |

Do they sleep in your bed?We have two large house dogs (a lab and a chow/golden retriever mix) and they are both allowed on the sofas, and they even occasionally sleep in my bed. My mother in law loves animals, even had house pets, but never wanted them on her sofas and NEVER NEVER on any bed. | |

I purchased a mirror with a black metal frame and I have it in my lounge. Today I looked at a website that sells black iron furniture and it says the items are special order and come in from France. I wonder if anyone knows where to buy black iron furniture in France. A couple of weeks ago I was looking at a website of a company that is based in America. So now that I just recently moved into my own place I am buying furniture. I got a really good deal on a matteress set, headboard and footboard at Big Lots, and an eve further discount because it was the last of it's style and the floor model. I also found a wooden rocker at a garage sale. I have two chairs for my living room that were given to me. | | Has anyone ever ordered furniture online? | | I just moved to England from America and I didn't get a furnished apartment, so I need to get some furniture and I need to get it soon because right now I have one dining room chair that the previous owners left behind. But it's getting pretty irritating sitting on this chair all the time and sleeping on the floor.I guess you could say I didn't plan things very well. But that's not the point right now!I'm busy with my new job a lot and I don't really have time to go to the furniture store and look around.
